Here's a cool thing: For the next two months, drivers in eight major
U.S. cities will be treated to free valet parking as they pull into
their favorite shopping centers, thanks to GMC and its
first-of-its-kind national marketing push. Starting immediately,
automaker GMC is footing the bill for valet parking as part of the
launch of its new Acadia crossover vehicle. The promotion, which
continues through April, is the first time that an automaker has
provided "free parking" on a national level.
More than 100,000 drivers nationwide will be provided the free valet parking during the program's two-month run.
While they are not specifically
marketing the program to women, I don't know who better fits the plan:
"GMC wanted to find a way to introduce Acadia to busy families. We
recognize how difficult running errands can be with small children, and
thought we could help make their shopping trips a little easier by
picking up the tab for the valet," said Mary Kubitskey, GMC National
Advertising Manager.
In case you didn't
know, the all-new Acadia is GMC's first crossover SUV, offering seating
for up to eight and combining the capability of an SUV with a car-like
driving experience. Acadia features a skirt-friendly 18.9-inch step-in
height along with the generous interior space of larger SUVs. Inside,
the safety system includes six standard air bags, standard electronic
stability control system, and rollover mitigation technology, which can
preemptively activate the side-impact air bags if sensors determine a
rollover is imminent. In the event of a rollover, the air bags stay
inflated longer to provide increased occupant containment.
Acadia also comes standard with OnStar Generation 7 (with a one-year
Safe and Sound plan), which features the Advanced Automatic Crash
Notification system. If the crash activates an air bag, the OnStar
system automatically notifies an OnStar advisor, who immediately calls
the vehicle and/or summons emergency help. Manufacturer's suggested
retail price begins at $29,495. You can get more information on the
Acadia the manufacturer's official website.
