January 16th-20th, 2008, once again marks the high-throttle action of
the 8th Annual Russo and Steele Collector Automobile Auctions "Sports
and Muscle" in Scottsdale, Arizona. The premier collector car auction
specializes in European sports cars, American muscle cars, hot rods,
and customs.
The
excitement kicks off with the Motown Muscle Charity Gala on Wednesday,
January 16th at 6:30 PM. The charity event benefits Phoenix Children
Hospital's Emily Center and features 11 of the valley's hottest
restaurants, silent auction, live auction, and Motown Magic for an
evening of great food, good friends, and hot cars. Reservations are
required for the event, which sells out every year. More than $100,000
was raised at the event last year for the Emily Center.
The week
continues Thursday through Sunday with 500 cars roaring over the
auction block into Russo and Steele's unique coliseum format known as
"auction in the round" starting at noon everyday with memorabilia first
and automobiles to follow immediately. General admission and
automobile preview start Wednesday thru Sunday, January 16th thru 20th,
2008; gates open at 10:00 A.M. The 20 general admission fee grants
access to the car preview area, along with the vendor and concession
midway.
Bidders and their guests can participate in the action in the main
auction tent, where they can enjoy complimentary food and beverage in a
designated seating area. Bidders passes are $150 and guest passes may
be purchased for $75.
Thursday
through Saturday night, Jack Daniel's will be providing a special
tasting event for Bidders; allowing for bidders to experience some of
Jack Daniel's finest single-barrel whiskey straight from Tennessee.
Russo and Steele will also hold the first ever Corvette Magazine
Seminar presented by Keith Martin from 8:30 to 11:30 am on Friday,
January 18th in the main auction tent. A perfect ending to a perfect
week is the Russo and Steel champagne brunch on Sunday, January 20th.
It
is not just the format that makes Russo and Steele unique; this event
offers an environment created by an enthusiast for enthusiasts.
Surpassing expectations with amenities that no other auction dares to
provide: FREE truck load shipping with Reliable Carriers for all their
Bidders who buy a minimum of six cars, full insurance coverage at the

Two auctions
have been staged each year with the signature auction taking place in
Scottsdale, Arizona, every January, followed by Monterey, California in
August. 2008 marks the addition of a third auction, in Hollywood,
Florida.
Some 500 European sports cars, American muscle cars
hot rods and customs will be featured at the 2008 Russo and Steele
auction. Here is a sampling:
1971 Ferrari 365 GTB Daytona Coupe
This
beautiful award-winner has received second place at 2007 Le Belle
Macchine d'Italia, the Platinum Award at the 2007 Ferrari Nationals,
Watkins Glen, and third place at 2007 Newport Concours D' Elegance.
1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429 Coupe
This
is one the finest original fully restored 1970 Grabber blue-on-white
Boss 429 Mustangs in the country. KK 2083 was once owned and
cosmetically restored by Drew Alcazar of Russo and Steele in the mid
eighties (as verified per the documentation).
1950 Jaguar XK120 X Alloy Roadster
Chassis
No. 670170, Engine 3442cc dual overhead camshaft inline six-cylinder,
dual SU carburetors, 160hp @ 5,400rpm, four-speed manual transmission,
independent front suspension with torsion bars and telescopic shock
absorbers, live rear axle with semi-elliptical leaf springs and lever
shock absorbers, four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes.
1970 Plymouth Cuda Hemi Coupe
This
particular Hemi Cuda coupe is an outstanding example of one of the most
desirable Muscle Cars to ever come out of Detroit. This is a black on
black four-speed Hemi Cuda, it does not get any better than this. This
car was specifically ordered new with few options except the
performance package; 426 Hemi motor, a 4-speed transmission and the
rare super track-pack 4:10 Dana rear end. If there ever was a car built
for Saturday Night Street racing, this is it!
1969 Lamborghini 400GT Coupe
This
is a 1969 Lamborghini 400GT 2+2 with only 20,700 original miles. The
chassis number is 1327, which is towards the end of the production run.
It is possibly the lowest mileage Lamborghini 400GT Coupe in the world.
Only 242 of these were made and even fewer survive today. No expense
spared in its restoration. The original Interior features a charming
cognac dark tan interior in awesome condition.
