According to a quote from Volkswagen spokesman Hans-Gerd Bode in an article at cnnmoney.com "Chief Executive Steve Jobs and Volkswagen's chief Martin Winterkorn met several days ago in California and plan to meet for further discussions." There are "scores of ideas," but few concrete plans at this point, Bode said.
According to appleinsider.com
"compact cars that come loaded with several pieces of Apple gear could
serve as a particular draw amongst younger-generation customers." The
concept is not entirely groundbreaking: Ford is already implementing
similar computer-based infotainment technology in its next-generation
Focus, with a Microsoft-based system called "Sync" revealed at the 2007
Detroit Auto Show.
One iCar fan is already thinking differently, and has posted his own ideas of what an Apple iCar might look like. You can see his vision of a compact car with apple personality here. Over at Engadget.com, they're also wondering what the icar might be like, asking their readers to share their thoughts and opinions.
