Men can sell to women
Thanks for a very nice article on AskPatty.com and the very innovative Internet sales leader Steve Rajnert at Dorian Ford ("Women in the showroom: Car sellers learn language of respect," Dec. 11). He gets it.
Women don't want to be treated like men when they're shopping for big-ticket items -- or little-ticket items, for that matter. They want to be treated like women. Unfortunately, very few sales-training organizations realize there is a difference between the male and female buying process.
If men sell to women the way they sell to men, the women are going to walk out the door -- many without telling the hapless salesman why.
