Did you know that once again REI is closing its doors to consumers on Black Friday and inviting their employees and shoppers to grab their favorite canine companions and #OptOutside instead?
REI started the #OptOutside movement in 2015 when the company paid its 12,000-plus employees to spend time outside, and invited America to join them. According to REI, the response was overwhelmingly positive, and more than 1.4 million people and 170 organizations chose to #OptOutside.
What’s more, Subaru is joining with REI in the #OptOutside promotion as well. Until Sunday November 27, if you post a photo on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter of your dog enjoying the great outdoors with both hashtags #OptOutside and #MakeADogsDay, Subaru will make a $1 donation to the ASPCA, up to $50,000 total.
Will You Go Out With Me?
Subaru will also be helping dogs who especially need to get outside by providing a fleet of cars in New York to take shelter dogs and city dogs away from the concrete and into nature. Subaru retailers will remain open on Black Friday to help power all your outdoor adventures.
