Continuing our coverage of all the awesome stuff happening at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan, today we bring you another new reveal from Audi - this time, a concept vehicle called the Audi Q8 which made its debut at #NAIAS this week. With the Q8, Audi hopes to tap into a new segment with a full-size SUV with an elegant Audi twist - and holy wow, this car is something else. It combines the roominess of a SUV with the sleek, luxurious lines of any Audi coupe on the roads. Under the hood, it sports a very efficient plug-in hybrid engine, delivering all the power you need to haul the family while saving a bundle at the pump - not to mention the benefit of driving earth friendly.
Despite the Q8's sleek, sloped silhouette that makes it seem like it sits low like a coupe, inside there's space for days. There's plenty of headroom for moms and dads, and plenty of leg (and snack, and toy, and book) room in the rear seat for kids and passengers. In the front, there's an expanded version of the Audi virtual cockput and a contact-analogue heads-up display that uses super-cool augmented reality technology, merging the real world with information from your vehicle! It's totally amazing and has to be seen.
The Audi Q8 concept vehicle is the basis for a production model that Audi plans to launch in 2018 - not too far away at all in the auto world, so check it out, and if you love it as much as we do, keep an eye on the AskPatty blog for updates on this beautiful SUV!
