Most people have heard of AutoTrader.
You are probably picturing the free magazine you pick up to leaf
through at the car wash or mechanic’s shop. Well the times, they are a
changin’. AutoTrader is not only a great automotive resource, but a
very up-and-coming leader in the industry when it comes to women.
That’s right, AutoTrader and AutoTrader.com
support women in the automotive industry! They have over 800 women on
staff. If you haven’t been by their site, it might be time to check it
out. They have a unique members section where you can keep track of
cars you like. Save the cars that catch your eye while you search. You
can save, name and sort up to 25 car listings in one place. Then, as
you shop or test drive or read reviews, you can narrow your search
down. It’s like a car chopping journal.
Ask Patty met with the ladies of AutoTrader at the L.A. Auto Show
and caught up with all their commitments to women in automotive
careers. Ask Patty wants to send out a huge, warm thank you hug to
Louise Barr, Kimberly Cooper, and Karlie Stanton, with whom we chatted
at the show! When you head to the show this week remember to stop by
their booth and say hello for us! They are in the West Hall, right in
front of the main doors to showrooms. Tell them we sent you!
AutoTrader
is making such an impact on the industry right now that one of their
women executives, Cynthia Ferguson, is being honored at the Women’s
Automotive Association International Spirit of Leadership awards in February 2007.
Cynthia Ferguson is AutoTrader.com’s Northwest Regional Director.
Cynthia has over 25 years experience in newspaper and online media
advertising sales and management. In 2004, as a District Sales Manager
for Autotrader.com, Cynthia’s team was awarded “Corporate Volunteer of
the Year” by Crisis Nursery in Phoenix, Arizona. Continuing with
commitment to community as a central core value, under her direction,
the North West Region focuses heavily on community involvement.
Ask Patty gives an exuberant thumbs up to AutoTrader and all they are doing for women in the automotive industry!
