Blog Ethics - Get Them Here!

I've been a bit absent from the blog this week. Life happening, and all. If you've noticed the change in the right-hand sidebar, you'll see that I'm attending the Fortune Innovation Forum once again. That's exciting. I hope to be able to post on site this year. The Internet and laptop gods were not kind last year, but I think I've solved that little problem this year. Please visit my sponsors - Ask Patty!, Simply Juicy Travel (a new blog - isn't it juicy? where are YOU going for the holidays?), Ask Dave (another new blog - Dave is the guy to ask all your jewelery questions of), and my good friend in Marketing to Moms, Kevin at Lucid. If you would like to see your logo there - email me. I only have room for two more, though!Starshine_1

Meanwhile, Andy has done it again. Well, Andy was part of it. WOMMA has done it again, is the real buzz. One area of worry for business bloggers, and marketers I've talked to, is the ethics issue. How do you develop an ethics policy that really works?

You check out WOMMA's new tool. Dell is already using it. See how - here.

This is invaluable information. Technorati is tracking so many blogs - 70 mill, I think - it's a bit overwhelming to the average Internet surfer. Who do you trust? Who do you believe? What's to prevent a blogger from "making it all up"? Well, you trust bloggers who display ethics. You believe bloggers who cite sources and remain true to their purpose. And, there isn't anything to prevent a blogger from "making it all up." But, there are respected TV and print reporters who have, in my lifetime, made it all up. Where are their ethics displayed? No where.

In the blogosphere, those of us who take our role seriously - provide ethics. We're authentic. Be wary of those who are not.

I'm off for a long weekend. See you all when I get back!

p.s. write to Nancy Pelosi and congratulate her! Susan B. Anthony would be proud!
