Wouldn’t
we all love to be better drivers? I know, some of us are already
fantastic behind the wheel, but what if you could be better? Or what if
you just want to brush up on some skills or start learning from the
beginning? Many big car companies are offering classes or courses to
their customers, which helps them with their driving prowess as well as
beefs up their safety skills. Ask Patty wants to invite you to take a
tour of some of these offerings.
• Volkswagen AutoStadt Driving Courses:
This course offers you a personal trainer that sticks with you
throughout the course. You learn car control, all-terrain driving,
obstacle course maneuvering, and fuel economy tricks. You get to do all
this inside a Touareg or any Audi Quattro offering.
• MINI Driver’s Training:
This course takes place during one day of training. Anyone can take the
class, even if you don’t have a MINI. And honestly, who wouldn’t want
to hightail it around a road course in a little Cooper? We’ll take the
red one!
• BMW Performance Driving Schools:
Like it’s cousin, the MINI, BMW bounces out a class of its own. This
course accommodates drivers of all levels so don’t be intimidated by
the large name behind it. The kind folks at BMW will teach you basic
driving confidence or extreme performance driving. BMW included!
• Maruti
Driving School: This school was started by Maruti Udvog (very large
Indian car manufacturer) and is a basic class for those interested in
typical road skills. Maruti’s school boasts state-of-the-art facilities
with driving simulators (you don’t even have to get in a real car!).
And get this part! Maruti employs female instructors to help women
drivers, who make up 50-65% of the students at the school! Ask Patty
gives a huge high five to this school!
More courses are available
the ones we covered here. If the ones above don’t tickle your lead
foot, then try one of these: Audi Driving Experience, Mercedes Driving
School, Porsche Driving Experience, Land Rover Driving School, Master
Maserati North America Driving School, and the Ferrari North America
Driving School.
Do you like motorcycles instead? Knock yourself out
at Rider’s Edge, the Harley-Davidson Academy of Motorcycling, which has
three differently skilled classes to choose from.
