Consumer Reports ShopSmart magazine is exploring an article and is looking for women to share their car-buying stories
(http://blogs.consumerreports.org/cars/2008/04/women-shoppers.html) as
part of their research. If you're a woman who has recently negotiated a
great deal on a new or used car, they would love to hear your story!
Did
you buy online or walk in to dealership? How did you research your
purchase? How did you go about negotiating? What troubles did you
encounter and how did you overcome them?
The Consumer Report
editors are looking for a quick synopsis of your experience -- good and
bad –- as well as any tips you wish to share. They’ve created a
discussion in their Cars forums where you can share your story with
other shoppers. Or, if you prefer to contact them directly, there is
information in that forum on how to do so. Please know that if they are
particularly interested in something you share, they may wish to speak
to you directly, so be sure to let them know if you would welcome being
contacted by a Consumer Reports reporter.
If you wish your story to be considered in their research, please visit their forums
( http://discussions.consumerreports.org/n/pfx/forum.aspx?tsn=1&nav=messages&webtag=cr-yourbestdeal&tid=107 ) and create a new post in which you share the following information:
* Year, make, model, and options, as well as the amount you paid?
* Whether you bought online or at brick-and-mortar dealership?
* How did you research your purchase and what was your negotiating strategy?
Don't
forget to include any tips you wish to share with other women, as well
as whether it would be okay for a reporter to contact you by e-mail.
Research for this story is underway now, so if you want your input to
be considered, please submit your comments to Consumer Reports as soon
as you are able!
Thanks for sharing your experience, and helping to contribute to the research for their upcoming story!
