Submit a design for the utility vehicle of the future to #District13 and Mazda will provide 10 meals to those struggling with hunger in the United States. Test drive a Mazda, and the company will donate one hour of community service. Buy or lease a Mazda, and the company will make a $150 donation to the charity of your choice.
All these options are part of Mazda’s annual holiday “Drive for Good” charitable giving event, which has been expanded this year to increase its impact in new ways. Whether you want to draw a picture, take a test drive, or buy or lease a car, you can join with Mazda to make a difference this holiday season. The 2015 Mazda “Drive for Good” event will run throughout the holidays and ends on January 2, 2015.
Mazda North American Operations is once again collaborating with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, American Red Cross, American Heart Association, and Mazda Foundation (USA), Inc., by donating $150 to the buyer’s charity of choice with their purchase or lease of a new Mazda vehicle. In addition to the four national charity organizations, Mazda Dealer Marketing Groups around the nation also have the opportunity to select a fifth local charity from more than 40 other regional hometown charities, to allow new Mazda owners to benefit organizations closer to home.
Additionally, and still uniquely Mazda, for every vehicle test-drive during the Mazda Drive for Good event, Mazda will donate one hour of charitable service from its employees, dealers, and business partners across the nation, to begin in the 2015 calendar year.
And as a new angle for this holiday season -- in a partnership with the year’s most anticipated film, “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1” -- when budding vehicle designers upload their design for a utility vehicle of the future for #District13, Mazda will provide $1, up to $10,000, to Feeding America. Each $1 donation helps provide 10 meals secured by Feeding America on behalf of local member food banks.
"We are excited to have increased the donation amount for the 2014 Mazda Drive for Good charity event," said Jim O'Sullivan, president and CEO, MNAO. "Mazda donated more than $2.7 million last year and while we know the charity partners were appreciative, we always want to do more. However, no Mazda charity event would be complete without rolling up our sleeves and lending a helping hand by donating an hour of charitable service for every test drive." At the end of last year’s Drive for Good campaign, Mazda employees donated more than 56,000 hours of volunteer time.
