DeVere has been a member of the Motorsports Committee for the past year and has been involved in supporting the program through United Spinal Association.

United Spinal Association's Motorsports program encourages people with disabilities, including individuals who use adaptive automotive equipment, to participate in competitive motorsports. The program also seeks to cultivate partnerships within the motorsports industry to help raise awareness about spinal cord injuries and disorders. DeVere is based in southern California and has three children, one of whom has a spinal cord injury and multiple sclerosis. She also has four grandchildren.
