If you've ever been stranded on the side of the road in the dark, then you'll appreciate how much Volvo's next-gen roadside assistance will come in handy. (You know, just because you CAN change your own flat tire doesn't mean you necessarily WANT to!) With the use of advanced tracking technology debuting this month, Volvo customers can pin-point where help is with real-time information.
Volvo customers now have access to a "ride-sharing style" interface that allows them to track approaching roadside assistance vehicles. (Think about hailing a tow-truck with an Uber-like app.) This real-time information is also shared with Volvo's New Jersy-based Customer Care agents -- available 24/7/365 -- who will guide drivers through the process.
Volvo says its new advanced tracking technology will improve response time to its customers in need by sharing where help is with real-time information and pin-point accuracy. (This would have been perfect for me the last time I was pulled over on the side of the road -- with my third flat tire of the year!)
“Our next-generation roadside assistance provides complete transparency to the affected customers,” said Bill Casey, Director of Customer Care and Dealer Support, Volvo Car USA. “Real-time tracking will allow customers to know exactly when help will arrive and whom to expect. It will dramatically cut down on the response time, setting a new benchmark in the industry.”
This new roadside assistance technology complements a growing ecosystem of connected car technologies introduced by Volvo -- including valet service, fuel delivery, and in-car delivery -- already available in select European markets.
