Woman_changing_tire Girl Scouts of the USA is pleased to continue its partnership with Firestone Complete Auto CareTM whose support has lead to the development of On the Road, a program that encourages girls to be competent, smart and safe drivers.

On the Road provides teenage girls, 14-17, with innovative hands-on activities to learn about automotive safety and maintenance, smart driving and careers in the automotive industry. In 2007, the program's reach will have a direct impact on girls in more than 40 councils through its grants and Car Care Academies facilitated by Trisha Hessinger, automotive education specialist and professional driver. The program will further reach girls around the globe using original resources including the On the Road focus book, online games and e-cards, and appearances at girl-focused tradeshows and events.
