I mean, 23-year-old high-octane rocker Caleb Johnson has captured the "American Idol" Season 13 crown, beating out 17-year-old Jenna Irene to be the last one standing. But as part of the winnings, Caleb receives a huge cash prize and a record deal, and both Caleb and runner-up Jenna have also won Ford Mustangs.
And if that's not enough, Caleb and Jenna brought their mentors from back home up on stage as part of the season finale to reveal that they would be giving each of them a 2014 Ford Fusion to thank them for their inspiration.
Now in its 13th season, Ford has been a sponsoring American Idol since the very beginning, seeing it as a great opportuity to increase consumer awareness and affinity for the Ford brand. In that time, more than a million consumers have opted in for more information about Ford vehicles as a direct result of Ford involvement with American Idol.
Last night's star-filled two-hour finale included performances by Lady Antebellum, Aloe Blacc, Kiss, Demi Lovato, John Legend, Jason Mraz, Jennifer Nettles, Phillip Phillips, and Darius Rucker. It also featured a combined performance by judges Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr. and Keith Urban, with judge-turned-mentor Randy Jackson, as they covered Cyndi Lauper's "True Colors" and rocked out on Fleetwood Mac's "Go Your Own Way."
Even show host Ryan Seacrest got in on the fun, joining Richard Marx on "Right Here Waiting." We'll give Ryan an A for effort, but thankfully he only crooned only a few lines before giving the spotlight to Richard.
