We found a video about adult carpools at sheknows.com,
where they introduce it by saying: "With gas prices going through the
roof, state agencies, private companies, and online sites are hyping
the idea of carpools for commuters. And research shows it might be just
the ticket for lowering bills and raising employee morale."
It
made me remember my own ridesharing experiences, when I had been
fortunate enough to enjoy the company of a several well-matched
carpools at my last employer. Having a companion in the car made the
45-minute commute pass quickly, and it was nice to sometimes take my
own turn as the passenger and savor the scenery without the
responsibility of driving. It was great to have a colleague in the car
for some pre-arrival gossip or decompression on departure. Plus we were
able to reduce the cost of gas and wear and tear on our vehicles, as
well.
