While social mega-networks like Facebook and MySpace have their own drawbacks from a growth and advertising activation/conversion standpoint, growth in the social networking space is coming from niche networks (easy to create via services like Ning and Freewebs).  And among niche networks, you'd be hard-pressed to find a niche more expansive (or lucrative) than those nets appealing to women.

Female Friendly Dealer Tanksy Sawmill Toyota at The Other Paper: Tansky hopes chicks dig the pastels
It’s only mildly offensive that Tansky Sawmill Toyota uses light lavender and baby-chick yellow to spout their claim that they’re now adept—trained, even—to sell cars to women.

The auto dealership received “Female Friendly” certification this month through, an all-inclusive auto website for women that focuses on helping the apparently auto-challenged gender through their big purchase, using—of course—big pictures, easy-to-navigate pages and lots of “pretty” on every auto topic you can imagine.

There are great resources out there: DealerRefresh, DrivingSales and Automotive Digital Marketing, AskPatty, Automotive Dealers Network and more!  These are people putting it all out there and on the line every day.  Their knowledge, reputation, ideas and networks.  Every consultant, contractor and adviser would rather get paid.  If we can't help dealers do a better job, there's not going to be any business to go around.
