Car Dealership Vs. Sexism
By: James Clark
A local car dealership operated by a woman seeks to end the gender gap in buying a car!
If only there were something like “Dear Abby” for women who need to buy a car. Now there is. The Smith South Plains dealerships in Slaton and Levelland now offer a service called “Ask Patty.” The service was officially announced Monday.
Darryl Hunn is both a sales manager for Smith South Plains and the local “Ask Patty” representative. He says, “There are dealers and repair shops around the United States who go through a certification process with ‘Ask Patty.’ And these women can go online and ask questions on the website or be linked up with someone in their local area who’s got the expertise and the ethics with them in an honest and forthright fashion.”
A study by J.D. Powers and Associates shows that women pay 2% more than men for the very same new car. So for you women who want a level playing field we have the link to the local section of Ask Patty.
