Our core philosophy is to deliver high-quality services, quickly, and in a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. This is the key to our success. This philosophy has allowed us to grow Mister Car Wash from our beginnings as a single store in Houston, Texas in 1969, to becoming the second largest full-service car wash chain in the United States, operating 78 car washes and 30 lube centers in seventeen markets.
In 1996, Mister Car Wash Houston was acquired by Car Wash Partners, and the new company embarked on a growth trajectory adding locations in seven other markets. In 2007, Mister Car Wash was purchased by Canadian private equity firm ONCAP. The strength and financial backing of ONCAP, a subsidiary of one of Canada’s largest companies, Onex Corporation, allowed us to double in size quickly.
The growth of Mister Car Wash has been fueled by investment in the best in technology available to the industry and in great employees. We do not lose focus on these tenets as we grow. Developing proprietary processes, through continuous research and development, has led us to new technologies and services that include our Unity™ chemical system and innovative products like our HotShine® Carnauba Shield. The best always strive to be better, so we are steadfast in looking for new ways to provide an even more outstanding process, yielding cleaner cars with an even deeper and richer shine.
Quality and service to customers and their vehicles are important, but we must also be good citizens of the world. Mister Car Wash is committed to being an environmentally-conscious company: we take all possible precautions to minimize our impact on the environment in terms of energy used, water used, and waste output. All of the chemicals we use are biodegradable, so that they break down naturally rather than polluting the environment. Our car washes are designed to minimize water use through a reclaim process that treats and reuses water. We dispose of all water and biodegradable solutions used in the car wash process through the sewer system for purification at local water treatment plants. In order to minimize the amount of water used to clean each car today, we’ll continue to research the latest in equipment and development, making necessary investments so that we can further use less, and reclaim more, of one of the earth’s most valuable resources: water.
It’s safe to say that our journey to continuously improve will never end. We’re still committed to our core principle – which is to deliver a clean, dry car – fast – with great customer service – and will never waver from this dedication. We’re excited about our future and hope you enjoy your visit! Keep watching for more great things to come.
