The Road to Success - Our Company's History
In the beginning, Okanagan Car Care was one man's passion for Cars...and Trucks...and Tractors. Doug Stranaghan opened the doors of Okanagan Car Care (formerly known as OK Tire) in its original Leon Avenue location in 1955.
Legend has it that Doug’s philosophy went something like this:
"The only two tools you will ever need are WD-40 and Duct Tape.
If it moves and it shouldn't, use duct tape.
If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40."
But like most legends that's only half truth. Over the subsequent decades, Doug and his wife Janet, who also made a significant contribution to the business, strove for simplicity. "If you put customers first, then they will do the same for you." Continuing support and loyalty of clients is an integral part of Okanagan Car Care’s success. Since those early years, we continue to adhere to this tradition.
In order to accommodate the company’s steady growth, we moved from Leon Ave to the corner of Gordon & Bernard in 1960, and to our present location, 2160 Enterprise Way at Dilworth, in 1975. Today, Okanagan Car Care is still family owned and operated. Doug’s son Larry, has run the company for the past 22 successful years, and his other son, Bruce, recently joined the first class, long term staff delivering first rate service.
We have state of the art equipment and top of the line products for all our customers' needs.
