Troy Kaplan of Hugo
My name is Troy Kaplan and I am the owner of TGK Automotive, Inc. I was born in Saint Paul to Mike and Carla Kaplan. I have a brother and sister. I graduated from Tartan High School. I currently live in Hugo with my beautiful wife, Alana, our daughter Lexi, and our dog Harley. I also have a 12 year-old son named Ethan. I’ve been in the automotive industry since I was just 16 years old. Since then I have trained and managed many shops in the Twin Cities area. I have more than 20 certifications in the industry of automotive repair. One of my main inspirations in starting my own shop was to give all my customers exceptional quality repair with an honest price. In my free time I enjoy golfing, fishing, and riding my motorcycle.
Alana Kaplan of Hugo

My name is Alana Kaplan. I was born to my wonderful parents, Phil Monita and Sandy Rousslang, in Saint Paul, MN and was raised in White Bear Lake, MN and graduated from White Bear Lake High School in 2002. I currently live in Hugo with my husband Troy, our daughter Lexi, and our dog Harley. In my free time I enjoy decorating our new house, love to shop, enjoy bowling, and have been told I have a pretty good golf swing for a girl!! I have been employed at Aquarius Water Conditioning for the last 8 years working in many different areas such as program implementation, accounting, customer service, and office management. I work part-time there so I can focus my time at TGK Automotive and help expand the company. I help out with the bookkeeping, marketing, training, and implementation to make TGK stand out from all other shops and bring our customers the best service an automotive repair company can offer.
Sean Cariveau of Hugo
My name is Sean Cariveau and I have a wonderful wife and three children. As you can imagine, my kids and their extra curricular activities consume the majority of my free time. I have been in the automotive industry for 16 years. I was previously a Master Mercedes Benz technician for 13 years. I was a team leader for most of that time. I am currently the General Manager at TGK Automotive. I decided to come to work with them because their philosophy of doing business is the same as mine. You need to be fair, honest and trustworthy.
Desiree Winchester of White Bear Lake
My name is Desiree and I live with my boyfriend and five-year-old son. I have more than 12 years of office experience and am completing my Associates degree in Interactive Media & Graphic Design at Globe University. I am in charge of organizing and implementing all of the e-media communications and a majority of the print materials for TGK Automotive. I enjoy working here because this is a very well organized and rapidly growing company. I look forward to growing with them. When I am not doing design work at the Maplewood location I enjoy spending my free time watching movies, fishing, boating, or hanging out with friends and family.
Joe Stebbing of North Saint Paul
My name is Joe and I enjoy my days of work as a service technician here at TGK Automotive. A little bit about me: I grew up on the Eastside of Saint Paul and started working on cars when I was 15. I graduated from Johnson High School and furthered my education at Dunwoody College of Technology where I obtained a degree in Automotive. A few years ago I bought my first house in North Saint Paul and continue to reside there. I look forward to coming into work every day because I am rewarded with knowing I am providing a service that enables people to SAFELY get back on the road once their vehicles leave my bay.
Tyler Koch of North Saint Paul
My name is Tyler and I have one older sister, two younger sisters, and one younger brother. I have worked in the automotive repair industry for the last 8 years. I was born in Wynot, Nebraska and recently moved to Minnesota to pursue a career as an automotive technician. My education includes a Bachelors degree in Automotive Repair, Master ASE Certification, MACS Certified, practical lab scope use and setup, DIA Top Ford Drivability, and DIA Top VW/Audi Drivability. I enjoy working for TGK Automotive because it is a great work environment and a very well run business. When I am not working on vehicles at the Maplewood location I enjoy riding motorcycles, dirt bikes, four wheelers, shooting guns, and playing darts.
Mike Borgwardt of Saint Paul
My name is Mike and I am married with two children. I have about 12 years of experience in the automotive industry, and became a Chrysler certified service writer in 2011. I enjoy working at TGK Automotive because of the professionalism and high standards in which they operate. When I am not helping customers here at the Maplewood location I enjoy spending some of my free time golfing.
Matt Paycer of Forest Lake
My name is Matt and I work on vehicles at the Maplewood location. I have over 16 years of experience in the automotive industry. My educational background includes an ASE Master Certification for over 10 years, AASP Shop Management Certificate, and a Machine Tool & Die degree. I enjoy working for TGK Automotive because of the down–to-earth leadership, very reasonable workload, and very knowledgeable support staff. When I am not helping fix peoples’ cars I enjoy spending some of my free time drag racing, playing pool, doing competitive pistol shooting, or playing golf.
Josh Nagle of Saint Paul
My name is Josh, and have four nephews and a dog that help consume some of my free time. I have worked in the automotive industry for about 11 years. I enjoy working at TGK Automotive because of the high quality of service we provide to our customers and positive atmosphere. When I am not helping customers at our Maplewood location I enjoy going to Twins and Wild games, going up north, fishing, and boating.
Doug Weidendorf of North Branch
My name is Doug and I have over 25 years of experience as a technician. I have maintained ASE certifications for over 20 years. I live in rural North Branch with my wife, Kris, of over 12 years, our twin daughters, Kayleigh and Lindsey, who are already 7 years old, and our four great danes. When I am not working on vehicles at the Hugo location I enjoy snowmobiling, four wheeling, family time, camping, and building muscle cars and trucks. My wife and I enjoy traveling as we have been to Alaska, Cancun, and Cabo San Lucas.
Chris Lyons of White Bear Lake
My name is Chris and I am the father of two boys, ages 13 and 16. My experience in the automotive industry began when I was 18 years old with detailing cars; a year later I moved into the mechanical aspect, and then in the year 2000 I managed my first service center. I enjoy working for TGK Automotive because it is an honest, family-oriented business that strives to ensure our customers know they are appreciated. When I am not working at the Hugo location I am an avid reader, enjoy the culinary arts, and playing my bass guitar. Additional information: Technically peanuts are a legume, not a nut.
Greg Bailey of Hugo
My name is Greg and I have been a mechanic since 1995. My first mechanic job was at my family’s shop. I also did body work for about 4 years. My education includes attending Century College for Automotive, a lot of on-the-job training courses, AC Certified, and ASE Certified in brakes. I enjoy working at TGK Automotive because I like the people I work with and it is a very honest place to work. When I am not fixing vehicles at the Hugo location I enjoy riding four wheelers, hunting, and fishing.
Casey Corbett of Forest Lake
My name is Casey and I have a wife and a daughter. My education includes being an ASE Master and GM World Class. My experience includes 15 years in a general motors dealership and 15 years in a small shop setting. I enjoy working at TGK Automotive because of the small shop feel, the quality shop tools, and good co-workers. When I am not working on vehicles at the Hugo location I enjoy coaching and playing bowling.
