There was light white smoke coming from the driver side under the hood of my car. Nothing is leaking and the car sounds fine. Any ideas?

When driving, white smoke comes out from tailpipes. What does that mean?
What does it mean when white smoke comes out when i start up my car. it does this until it warms up and goes away. then it lightly comes out more but once i drive the car around once it goes away. and after that i dont see the smoke until the car cools completly down.

My 2002 Pontiac Grand Am started to overheat, and I replaced the thermostat, water pump, hoses etc, and it still ran hot. Now it won't start but but will turn over. I have blown a head gasket, i have white smoke coming from my tail pipes and milky oil. I am wondering can i use head gasket reapair until i get the car fixed?
