I have a 2001 VW Bug, bought it 2 years ago this month. Everything's been great except for recently - when I put it in park and turn off the car. When I go to get in it again and try to go pull out, the gear shift sticks and it wont go out of park! I started setting the E-brake when I put it in park, and that seems to help, but sometimes it still sticks! I ...
I have a 1999 Mazda Protege LXIT currently has 140,000 miles. I had the transmission fluid (not the transmission filter) in the transmission changed at 110,000. As it is 140,000 now I think that it is time for another service. Also the gear shifts a little hard than before but overall it works just fine. The previous owner also informed me that the ...
Hi, I am driving 94 Buick Skylark 4Dr Sedan. Everything is fine but gear shifting after overnight parking. The transmission not responding until idling long time (1-3 min). It is o.k. once it works and during operation. Thank you.

My Chevy Monte Carlo 1995 gear shift button sticks and won't let me go into gear. What could the problem be?
Sometimes the gear shift (I have an automatic) sticks in park and I cannot press the button in to get it to move into any other gear. I have been told that the contacts that cause the gear shift to move are dirty and that spraying windex down under there will help, and it does, but it seems to keep happening. Any idea what causes it?
The automatic gear shift on my 2003 Toyota Camry has started locking up and I cannot drive. The AAA guy gave me a temporary solution (he showed me a small area to the left of the gear shift that was hidden, opened it up and when I press it down, the gear shift moves. Why is the car doing this-can you tell me? Any idea what it should cost to repair?
