I have a 73 Olds Omega and have recently done a complete tune-up myself.
However, the carburetor is still smoking when I drive it even though it is running and sounds smooth. Also it is starting hard in cold weather only. What could be the problem?
1. Am considering purchasing a Mercury Mariner hybrid. I ski in the Sierra Nevada Mountains a lot in the winter. How do the hybrids hold up in very cold weather and snow conditions?
2. If the car is an AWD or 4WD, do I put chains on the front or the back wheels?
3. Does the extended cold weather have a negative affect the battery pack?
On my 99 windstar with 135k miles, it starts and temp. gauge goes immediately to normal reading. Later, after it warms up, it reads either full hot(in warm weather) or full cold(in cold weather below freezing) every time.
