We live in NC - we are looking at buying a 2004 Honda Pilot that has been up in NY for the past 4 years - it looks like the owners took very good care of the car - but it has the expected snow/salt rusting. How much of a headache or problem would this rusting propose to us. If we get it at a good price - should we consider it? or just walk away?
I'm looking for a SUV/Crossover that has a third row of seats, gets reasonably good gas mileage and rides like a car and not a truck. I also refuse to buy a minivan. I would also like something with good resale value but I don't think I can afford a Honda Pilot or Toyota Highlander.
