Is the fuel filter external or internal on a 2012 3.6 liter Chevy Impala? If it is internal, is there a access to service it without dropping the fuel tank to change it?

I have a 2006 Cadillac STS. I believe the engine is a 4.6 because under the hood it says V8 but correct me if I’m wrong. I took my car to autozone to get the check engine light read and it showed different engine misfires and also the code P0300. I thought that it was possibly the fuel injectors since that’s what the man at autozone recommend ...

Does the 2012 impala have the same access panel to the fuel pump in the trunk or under the seat as the earlier years? Or does the tank absolutely have to be dropped?

I am burning fuel like crazy and I don't know why. I changed wirers and plugs, there is no gas smell, and I have a new fuel pump.

I have lost sleeps for a few days and even got panic attacks while trying to decide which car to buy - 7 seater outlander or a Nissan Qashqai. I personally liked outlander more but my Wife was against outlander due to higher fuel, road tax and insurance compared to qashqai. Also she cited that we have a family of 4 and do not need such a big car. Help ...
