I have a 2002 Passat. Recently, after a heavy rain, there was substantial flooding in the floor on the driver's side. None of the electrical buttons worked, the hazard lights were frozen on, and no matter how much we mopped out the water, there would be another inch of it within an hour. I have been told that the contacts that cause the gear shift to move are dirty and that spraying windex down under there will help, and it does, but it seems to keep happening.
