I own a 1988 Honda Accord LX with a carburetor. When I start the car it races at 2200 rpm but when the engine is finally warm the idle drops like a rock to just above zero. It runs at that level and doesn't recover. Why won't my engine idle between 900-1,000 rpm? Thank you.
Recently I purchased a 89 Jeep comanche 4 cylinder 2.5 l engine 5 speed manual 73k. Runs well cold but after it warms up it Boggs, stutters, chokes, and fails to respond to the gas pedal. I have a 1989 Honda Accord LX (carbureted) and when the car has sat for a more than (3) hours it has a hard time getting enough power for the car to get up to 2000 RPM's (It needs to in order to warm up then the idle is supposed to drop off which it does once it warms up). The car shudders and really fights to get the idle up I have a new battery.
So I changed the engine on this car and crank position sensor and now I'm having a problem, the car starts just fine and runs good but when I step on the gas it won't go past 3000 RPM's it just kicks out at 3000 . What can I do?
When stepping on The gas ir won't shift unless I hit 4000 rpms or it won't even shift if I don't let the gas pedal go wat could be causing that ?
yes i just bought my accord a couple days ago and had to have my dad replace the water pump because it was leaking. now when i turn it on it revs up to 3000 rpm and stays there. what could have caused this?
