How can I correct this? After I gas up and I fill the tank the instrument panel on the distance to empty reads I am empty and shows no miles to empty?

Thank you for writing in. There are several ways the fuel module can fail and send the wrong information to the dash board. Most commonly, the float inside the tank that reads the fuel level no long moves freely, or the electronic fuel sending unit may have failed. Finding the cause will require several types of tests. However, it is likely that the entire fuel module will need to be replaced regardless. If you are equipped with an ohmmeter, you can test to see if the fuel sending unit is working correctly as you move the float up and down manually. If it does show the correct span of resistances, then you can focus on the arm of the float. Again, it is typically recommended that you simply replace the entire fuel module if possible. Good luck!
