I got a message Drivetrain Malfunction after fueling my car, I didn’t have any problems on the car only the message. I stopped the car and restart the engine and the message disappears. What is the possible cause?
Hello,
Thank you for writing in. Unfortunately, the "Drivetrain Malfunction" light is rather generic. It could mean a number of issues pertaining to both the engine and the transmission. Since the light has gone away, and you have no other symptoms, it may have just been a fluke. However, keep an eye out for that light again or any other signs of a problem. It is possible that the warning was due to the fueling process, so pay extra attention next time you fill up. If it happens again, have the vehicle scanned for diagnostic codes. Good luck!
