Hello, I am from Kitchener Ontario, Canada and i have an F150 2018 V8 engine that had an oil consumption problem and now coolant consumption as well after Kitchener Ford replaced the engine. I need a technical advice for a weird noise coming from the engine while accelerating between 40-80 Km/h, i managed to place my phone in the engine compartment and record the noise (they are trying to tell me that it is normal characteristic noise). Is there a way to send you the videos and get your experts opinion about that? Thanks William

Thank you for writing in. There are some characteristic noises made by the 5.0L V8 engine that Ford is using in the F150. Unfortuneately, we do not have a way for you to share your video in order to help you determine what the noise you are hearing may be. You may want to do some more research to see if anyone else has posted a similar video online. The vehicle and engine are old enough that there should be a decent amount of information on forums and other websites. The more concerning issue is the oil and coolant consumption. If the replacement engine is working well and there have been no major issues, then you can likely rest easy knowing the proper repairs have been made. If the engine noise is keeping you from doing so, go see one of our recommended repair shops near you to get a second opinion. Good luck!
