My car wouldn’t start. I replaced the battery and it started right up. I drove a mile to the store. Started the car to come home and the check engine light came on.

Hello,

Thank you for writing in. There are a large number of issues that will cause the check engine light to turn on. It may or may not be related to the battery. You will have to have the vehicle scanned for diagnostic troubleshooting codes, which will help you identify what is causing the check engine light to illuminate. This can be done at most automotive parts stores or by a technician. You can then decide what needs to be done to rectify the issue or simply clear the code if it is not serious. Only further testing will tell. Good luck!
