Had a stereo system installed. While driving down the road my friend popped off the stereo face plate my car just went dead. No lights nothing. After putting the face plate back on after a few tries my car started. But now the car just randomly dies . Could it have something to do with the after market stereo system messing up the security system.
Thank you for writing in. There are two issues that you may be experiencing. The first is that the after market stereo system is not compatible with your vehicle, which is more likely on a Honda where the security system is so heavily tied into the audio system. The second is that installation was done poorly and the electrical circuits are not connected correctly. Look for messy electrical work first, and then seek help from a professional. If your aftermarket stereo install is warrantied, you will want to start by taking it back to the tech that installed it. If you are not covered under any kind of warranty, find a qualified technician or car audio expert near you. Good luck!
