My right rear tail light went out about a week ago. I replaced the bulb and it worked fine. Got pulled over a few days ago because its out again. Tried replacing the bulb again but no luck. My right headlight just went out as well. Are these issues related?

Hello,

Thank you for writing in. It is not impossible for these issues to be related, but without more information its hard to tell, particularly because they went out at different times. There are a few steps that can be taken to help find out where the electrical issue is coming from. First, perform a visual inspection to make sure the fuses are fine, the ground connections are tight, and that there are no obvious signs of damage. Secondly, test the headlight and taillight bulb socket for power with a multi-meter, and test the fuses if you are unsure if the filament is broken inside. If all fuses are good, and the socket(s) does not have power, you could have an issue with the headlight switch, the wiring, or the bulb socket itself. Only further testing will tell. Good luck!
