I have a 2018 Malibu LT. I live in the metro Detroit area and am a Tigers fan. Their radio broadcast station is WXYT-FM, 97.1. I cannot receive it on my car radio. When I tune to 97.1, I get some unknown talk show. I can get the Tiger games on all my home radios; what’s going on? I miss hearing the games when I’m driving? Please help.
Thank you for writing in. There is a very slim chance there is actually something wrong with your vehicle or its radio/antenna. Considering that it is only one station, and everything else about the car's radio is working correctly, you may be picking up on another stations frequency. This can happen when a station broadcasts HD bandwidths with sidebands in analog to help all listeners pick up on their station. Those sidebands may be overlapping your frequency and causing you to pick up on those instead. This is an unfortunate side effect of how stations are being broadcasted, and how certain radios are programed to receive them. You may be able to pick up on the correct station if you are geographically located closer to the source of your desired station's broadcast signal.
