How much transmission fluid does a 2001 Chevy Tahoe require?

Answers from the Automotive Experts

Hello,

Thank you for writing in. The transmission stores some fluid while the vehicle is off. So, if you are simply dropping the pan and changing the fluid inside, you are going to need to add 5 quarts of transmission fluid. If the transmission has been completely drained, known as "dry", you are going to need 11 quarts of transmission fluid. Good luck!
