My car was hit and broke the top of the transmission where the shift selector is there is wiring there. The engine turns over but fuel pump does not pump. Would the broken transmission and loose wiring stop the pump from working?

Hello,

Thank you for writing in. There is nothing directly next to the top of the transmission that will cause the fuel pump not to work. If the damage reached as far as the top of transmission, chances are something was cut or damaged along the way. There are both fuel lines and electrical wires that run along the bottom the bottom of the vehicle, and your best option is to test the electrical wiring for voltage along those wires until you find out where the cut in power is happening. Good luck!
