Hello. I am unsure whether or not to buy an 06 highlander hybrid or an 08 Prius. I live in Blacksburg and there are a lot hills and in the snow, it gets really crazy. Which would be the ideal buy? I’m also a very big sound system person. If I get the highlander, is there anyway to get a better sound system?

Hello,

Thank you for writing in. There are perks to both models, although you may not want to drive a prius through harsh and heavy weather simply because it is a small sedan. The Highlander will be better suited for extreme winters.

You can always update the sound system in any vehicle. The highlander has more room for a sub and additional speakers. the boxy shape of the interior is ideal for certain sound systems.

Either way, you want to consider getting a pre-purchase inspection performed by a quality technician. This is simply to ensure you that the vehicle is in good running conditions, with no signs of heavy wear or potential issues in the near future. Contact your local AskPatty.com Certified Female Friendly automotive repair centers to have this inspection done before you hand over a check.
