My 2001 chevy tahoe seems to being shifting late or having a hard time shifting out of 1st into 2nd but all the other gears are shifting fine and on time. Wonder if it could be low transmission fluid.

Hello,

Thank you for writing in. You are definitely thinking in the right direction. Lower gears have more torque and need higher pressure hydraulics. Lower fluid will show in these gears first. Check the transmission fluid, but make sure you do so once the vehicle is warmed up and running. If you are low, try to find out why. It may be natural loss over time if you have never service the transmission. There may also be a leak or a cause for the drop in pressure. Good luck!
