The van is currently getting an engine repair that I am paying $4000 for. While changing out the engine, the mechanic stated that the transmission fluid is leaking. Also that the battery that was placed inside the vehicle does not fit this make and model. How much should it cost (approximately) to repair a Dodge Caravan transmission that is leaking fluid? Also, about how much should it cost to replace the battery? Thank you, Autumn

Hello,

You can estimate paying around $100 for a new and appropriate battery for your van.

The costs of the transmission repair will depend entirely on where that fluid is leaking from and what caused the leak. There is no way to estimate repair costs without knowing what is wrong. You may want to get estimates from repair shops around you once you know more about the leak. This will give you the best idea of the prices for hourly labor in your area.

Transmission leaks can lead to transmission failure and irreparable damages. If the transmission fluid leak is serious, you will want to take care of the problem immediately. Good luck!
