My air conditioner doesn't work

Answers from the Automotive Experts

Hello,

There are two main ways that your AC usually fails. First is that is stops blowing air all together. Second is that it blows only warm or hot air, and the AC never actually cools the air before it enters the cabin of your car. To start diagnosing the issue, we need to know what about it is not working.

If the vehicle still blows air but it is warm, you may simply need your car's AC system recharged with refrigerant that is used to cool the air. You may also have an issue with the AC compressor that controls the refrigerant so it successfully cools the air.

If your AC is not blowing any air, then you have an issue with your blower motor, or the switch that is used to control it. If this is the case, you will likely need to have the blower motor replaced.
