I've heard that the American Tire Manufacturers Association, recommending that new tires always be placed on the rear wheels of a car, even a front wheel drive Minivan with ABS, is indemnifying drivers for front end skidding accidents that their recommendations precipitated immediately after the tire install over the customers objections. Is this true? I must say that it is commendable that the ATMA take responsibility for their recommendations that some tire installers have taken on as a matter of policy over the objections of their customers (or former customers. as the case may be).
