Hi. While I'm driving if I stop the car just shuts off. When this happens, I put it in park and restart it with no problem. What could cause my car to do this? I keep up with the oil changes, maintenance and it has gas in the tank. Please help!

Hello,

Thank you for writing in. There are several different reasons why a vehicle will stall when it comes to a stop. Often there is carbon build up around the throttle, the EGR valve, or the idle air control valve has failed. If you have not already scanned the vehicle for diagnstic codes, you will want to do so. Not all issues will trigger a check engine light, and the vehicle's computer may know have picked up on the issue already. Otherwise, look into the components mentioned above, and then look into the air intake sensors and ignition system.

You can always count on a Certified AskPatty.com Female Friendly service center for more help with diagnostics and repairs. Good luck.
