Everything has been done to the car, why would engine light come on?

Answers from the Automotive Experts

The check engine light will illuminate for a large number of reasons. The first step is to take the car to be scanned for codes, so that we know what has triggered the check engine light. This can be done at most automotive parts stores, or by local technicians. Once you have that information, you know if there is a problem that needs to be addressed immediately. It may be something as simple as a sensor that needs to be replaced, to something more serious. Pay attention to how the vehicle is running. If it is acting strange, know the problem is likely more serious and needs to be diagnosed soon. If the vehicle is running like normal, you may have a little more time to fix the problem. Until the diagnostic troubleshooting codes are read, there is no way of knowing. Good luck, and thank you for writing in.
