Can I drive my car in third gear 2006 Chevy Impala.

The 2006 Chevy Impala will be fine driving in 3rd gear. You will not want to drive at speeds higher than 50 MPH. At that point your RPMs will likely be above 2500, and you do not want to run the car higher than that for very long. This is okay during acceleration, but not prolonged periods of time. Again, for most city driving, your vehicle will do fine in third gear. If you must spend time on the highway, you will need to have the transmission repaired before hand.
