The oil in my Kia Forte smells like gasoline. Is this normal?

Answers from the Automotive Experts

Colleen McGee, Driving Instructor at Americas Driving School

Hi Farrah Gas can get into the oil if you flood the engine or if you drive with a very cold engine and you dont drive long enough to let it warm up. Worn piston rings and spark plugs could also cause gas to get into the oil. Change your oil, have your engine checked for worn parts and make sure you drive long enough to heat up the engine to evaporate the extra gas. Happy Driving! Colleen M
