Answers from the Automotive Experts

Brandy Schaffels, Editor at AskPatty.com, Inc. Hi Antwonne, You can download a copy of the owner's manual for your 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe at this link: https://my.chevrolet.com/content/dam/gmownercenter/gmna/dynamic/manuals/2001/chevrolet/tahoe/2001_chevrolet_tahoe_owners.pdf

According to http://www.silveradosierra.com/how-to-articles/how-to-change-the-transmission-filter-in-chevy-gmc-trucks-t902.html the capacity of the transmission is 14 quarts. When dropping the pan and replacing the filter, you should drain out about 7 or 8 quarts.
