My 1991 Honda recently started to shut off while driving and when I try to start it the car makes sound like it is going to start but does not. I noticed the first light that went on was check engine light and immediately after all the lights go on. Please can you tell me what may be the issue?

Brandy Schaffels, Editor at AskPatty.com, Inc. Problems with engine starting or shutting off while driving can be caused by a variety of issues, that include: a short in the ignition system, a faulty fuel pump or solenoid, issues with the catalytic converter that could be causing back pressure in the engine exhaust system, a faulty distributor, or an issue with the fuel injection relay.
