So today in Joplin, I'm going up the ramp to get off on my next exit when my nissan murano 2005 acted up. I was driving at a normal speed going up, and then its like the power died because i was stuck on side of ramp trying to go up. As I was pressing the gas to try an go, it wouldn't, but finally it geared up and got me where I needed to go. It has oil and fuel, what is going on?
Your car is equipped with a continuously variable transmission. It sounds like it might be a transmission problem. When you were stepping on the gas, did the engine rev, but not turn the wheels? This could be a sign that your transmission is failing. Have any warning lights also illuminated on your dash?
You can download a copy of your owner's manual at this link: http://www.nissanusa.com/pdf/techpubs/murano/2006/2006-Nissan-Murano.pdf It will give you more information about your transmission (section 5-13), and dash lights (section 2-9).
To get more detailed information about your vehicle's required service schedules, you'll need to refer to the “NISSAN Service and Maintenance
Guide” for the maintenance schedule. This specific manual has valuable model-specific details on the day-to-day use and care of your car, as well as recommended maintenance intervals. If you've lost or misplaced your manual and your vehicle is a 2007, 2006, 2005 or 2004 model, please contact Nissan Consumer Affairs at (800) NISSAN-1 between the hours 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Eastern/Central/Pacific Time, Monday through Friday.
