My heater would not turn off after the engine was turned off. My husband checked all 3 heater fuses and they were ok. He disconnected the battery cable on one side and that stopped the heater. No the car won't start after reconnecting the battery cable. Could you give me any advice on what's wrong?
There may be an issue with the control module that is keeping the blower motor (heater) constantly running. This needs to be properly diagnosed and repaired by a reputable shop.
Many newer vehicles have electronic control systems and anti-theft systems that need to be relearned when the battery is disconnected. Your owner's manual may provide some information about what is needed to get the car running again. There may be other issues at play that disconnecting the battery may have triggered. A reputable repair shop should be able to diagnose and repair this concern.
